Norfolk Island

I recently had contact with Norfolk Island again and decided to refresh this Lightbox. Norfolk is very photogenic and many islanders consider themselves serious photographers. The special thing was that the island is only about 36km square, so the incredible geology, cliffs, waves, sea birds, forests, rocks, sunsets, beaches, historic ruins and blue cows are all only a few minutes' drive away.

Fishing at sunset

Not too long ago I had an opportunity to go to Forster, on the mid North Coast of New South Wales with my brother and nephew. It was a great weekend, very relaxing and a good chance for some fun. This particular evening, my nephew felt like some fishing around sunset. He was quickly joined by an eager Pelican (Pelecanus conspicillatus) but not too many arge fish. Instead of fish for dinner, we opted for the local pub where the food was easier to find.

Pildappa Rocks 2016

This was a Large Rock feature which fascinated me 18 km from the main Eyre highway it is worth the journey. The history of the area is a credit to the Aboriginal and early White settlers, who used the base of the rock to channel water to a underground holding tank. Amenities are quite well set out and this area is well worth the visit.
